We are excited to share important news about the continued growth of our practice and how it will benefit your care.
As of September 20, 2026, Chesapeake Specialty Care (“CSC”) will become a member of the University of Maryland Specialty Care Network (“UMSCN”) under Tax ID number 99-3416750. Through this affiliation, your physicians are now faculty members of the University of Maryland School of Medicine. This collaboration strengthens our ability to provide you with access to world-class clinical expertise, advanced treatments, and expanded resources – all while continuing the personalized care you know and trust.
What this means for your care You will continue to receive the same high-quality care from the same trusted physicians and care teams at our current locations. Our commitment to excellence, compassion, and continuity of care remains unchanged.
Medical Records
- As part of this transition, UMSCN will serve as the custodian of your medical records. Your records will be securely maintained in accordance with applicable federal and state privacy laws.
- You may continue to request access to your medical records just as you have in the past by contacting the CSC office that provides your care. We will ensure they are processed promptly to support your ongoing care.
Insurance and Billing
CSC will continue to participate with a broad range of insurance plans. Going forward:
- CSC will participate with the payors on the payor list below.
- Claims submitted to your insurance will be processed in accordance with UMSCN’s payor agreements.
- Patient financial responsibility (such as copayments, coinsurance, or deductibles) will continue to be governed by your insurance plan.
If you have questions about your insurance coverage, we encourage you to contact your insurance provider directly for assistance.
